Welcome to the official website of Desert Daze Festival and Desert Daze presents (hereinafter “Desert Daze”, “us” or “we”). Desert Daze knows that you care about how your personally identifiable information is used and shared, and we take your privacy seriously. Personally identifiable information is information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer, household, or device (hereinafter “Personal Information”). Personal information does not include publicly available information from government records or deidentified or aggregated consumer information.

 

This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, store, use, and disclose your Personal Information when you use our website, purchase event tickets and merchandise, and use any other linked pages, features, or content, including all features and functionalities, user interfaces, and all content associated therewith (hereinafter collectively, the “Service”).

 

This Privacy Policy covers Desert Daze’s treatment of Personal Information that Desert Daze gathers when you are accessing textual and/or media content (the “Content”) and/or using our Service. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Desert Daze does not own or control, or to individuals that Desert Daze does not employ or manage. When using this Service, you may find links to other websites, apps and services, or tools that enable you to share information with other websites, apps and services. Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It

 

We collect several types of information from and about users of our Service, including information:

  • By which you may be personally identified, such as name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, or any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline (“Personal Information“). This policy also covers Personal Information collected from Desert Daze sales customers or prospective customers;

  • From third parties, including but not limited to, Google Analytics, DICE ticketing, Jampack or Big Cartel.
  • “Non-Personal Information” is therefore any information that does not relate to a person and/or cannot be used to identify a person.

Information You Provide to Us

The information we collect on or through our Service may include:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on our Service. This includes information provided at the time of subscribing to emails, purchasing event tickets, purchasing Desert Daze merchandise, or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you enter a contest or promotion sponsored by us, and when you report a problem with our Service. For a paid event, you will provide financial information (e.g., credit card number, expiration date, billing address, etc.) some of which may constitute Personal Information.
  • Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us.
  • Your responses to any surveys that we might ask you to complete for research purposes.
  • Details of any Desert Daze transactions you complete through our Service or third-party websites and of the fulfillment of your orders. Please note that you may be required to provide financial information before placing an order through our Service.

You also may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted“) on public areas of the Service or transmitted to other users of the Service or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions“). Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although we limit access to certain pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

  • Promotional Offers from Desert Daze. If you do not wish to have your email address/contact information used by Desert Daze to promote our own or third parties’ products or services, you can opt-out by unsubscribing from our emails or by sending us an email stating your request at info@desertdaze.org. If we have sent you a promotional email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions.

We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI“) on the NAI’s website.

California Residents’ Privacy Rights

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Service that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.   • As previously stated, Desert Daze is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18, and anyone under the age of 16 is not permitted to use the Service or submit any Personal Information to us. We do not knowingly collect any Personal Information from any person who is under the age of 16. If it comes to our attention that we have collected Personal Information from a person under the age of 18, we will delete this information as quickly as possible. This Privacy Policy includes what Personal Information we may have collected about you over the past 12 months (depending on how you use our Service), the source of the Personal Information, and the purposes of use, as well as whether we disclose that Personal Information and if so, the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed. If we delete your Personal Information, we will both cause certain Personal Information about you to be permanently unrecoverable and also deidentify certain Personal Information.

Our Service is controlled and operated within the United States. We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls. Any payment or donation transactions will be encrypted.

Do Not Track

Currently, we do not participate in any “Do Not Track” frameworks that would allow us to respond to signals or other mechanisms regarding the collection of your Personal Information.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page. If we make material changes to how we treat our users’ personal information, we will notify you by email to the email address specified in your transaction(s) and/or through a notice on the Service home page. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page.
